Presbyterian Voices 2020: A 176th Anniversary Celebration
I’m sure all of you enjoyed the wonderful celebration we had last year for our 175th Anniversary. It was fun and meaningful, and truly special. I am still thankful for Sheila leading the effort and all who pitched into make it happen.
I would like to start a new effort that will allow us to continue this celebration and carry the churches history into the future. It would be called, “Presbyterian Voices 2020: A 176th Anniversary Celebration”.
We would like to have your voices heard on the Kingsville United Presbyterian Church website which represents God, our church, and you.
You don’t have to spend hours writing, talking, or working to contribute. All you have to do is tell your story in whatever way is most comfortable to you. You can tape record it. You can write it down. You can tell it to someone like me or someone close to you who will retell it to use on the website. We will, of course, publish for those who do not have web access.
“What kind of story?” you ask. Here are some questions to think about.
- What was it like growing up Presbyterian and specifically, in this church? What are some of your fondest memories?
- If you didn’t grow up in the church, what attracted you to it and motivated you to keep attending?
- Why did you get involved in the church and what has kept you involved?
- What future do you see for the church?
- Anything else you want to add or substitute for these questions.
We can’t offer you an all-expense paid trip to Cedar Point, but we will guarantee the satisfaction of adding your voice to the generations of people who have contributed to the 176-year life of the Kingsville Presbyterian Church.
I think this will be a lot of fun and I look forward to hearing your contributions. Call me if you have questions. We’d like to have this published by July.
Stay safe and healthy.
God’s peace be with you,
